5 Around Town: November 17th and 18th

This week on 5 Around Town, we’re getting into the holiday event season.

Nutcracker in a Nutshell

Nutcracker in a Nutshell will get you in the holiday spirit with a condensed version of the classic tale, perfect for kids. The journey will come to life with dance, costumes, and sets to transport you to the Kingdom of Sweets. The show will start at 1pm Saturday at the Sangre de Cristo Arts Center in Pueblo with tickets costing $8. You can buy tickets here

Winter Lights

The Broadmoor Seven Falls will kick off the holiday season with its annual Winter Lights event on Saturday beginning at 10 am. The festivities will include an Elf Scavenger Hunt, Mr. and Mrs. Clause, Letters to Santa, a holiday-themed selfie station, visits with Santa’s reindeer, holiday beverage, and more. The lights will switch on after sunset. Admission will be $14.50 for adults and $9 for children with a portion of proceeds supporting the Empty Stocking Fund and Springs Rescue Mission. Trans-Siberian Orchestra

The famous Trans-Siberian Orchestra will return to town this weekend. There will be two performances of their “The Ghosts of Christmas Eve” show on Sunday, 3 pm and 7:30 pm. Performances will be at the Broadmoor World Arena with tickets starting at $69.50. Buy tickets and find more information here

YOT Club’s 22nd Annual Holiday Benefit

The YOT Club, toy spelled backwards, will host its 22nd annual charity event this Saturday night from 7-11pm. The prom for adults event at The Mansion on Tejon St will feature a cocktail reception with performances, door prizes, a silent auction, and more. Minimum admission is a $10 donation, two unwrapped new toys, and one new unwrapped book, all of which will be donated to a local elementary school, Stockings for Kids, and organizations that support schools.
