5 Around Town: October 13th and 14th

Here are a few of the events going on around town this weekend.

Simply Vintage Market

Whether you’re always on the hunt for antiques or you just need a new piece for the house, you’ll find plenty of options at the Simply Vintage Market. Friday from 5 pm to 8 pm and Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm there will be over 100 vendors set up in the Agg Palace at the Colorado State Fairgrounds selling everything from jewelry to furniture to clothing and everything in between. Cool Science Festival

Saturday kicks off the 2018 Colorado Springs Cool Science Festival. The festival will run for the next week with tons of science focused activities, but the kick off will be a Carnival Day for Kids at UCCS. From 10 am to 4 pm there will be demonstrations, laboratory tours, demos, rockets, drones, animals, and other hands-on activities for kids pre-k to 8th grade. It’s a free and fun for everyone! Boos and Brews

October means Halloween is just around the corner. Boos and Brews will combine a haunted house and a beer festival at the Colorado Springs Event Center this Saturday. From 4 pm to 7 pm you can enjoy unlimited sampling from local breweries and take trips through the haunted mines haunted house. Tickets will be $35 ahead of time, $42 day of. Run With The Burros

On Saturday morning at 11 you can head over to Manitou for their Run with the Burros event. It’s a free 5k jog or walk around the trails of Manitou Springs with the burros. The race starts and ends at Manitou Brewing and they’ll also have $1 off pints until 2 pm for participants. Even if you’re not looking to run, you can still come down between 11:30 am and 2 pm to visit with the burros. You don’t need to sign up ahead of time, just show up by 11.
