Right lane on southbound I-25 reopens after semi-truck fire

FOUNTAIN — The right lane on southbound I-25 is now reopened after being closed for several hours Thursday night due to a semi-truck bursting into flames, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.

Crews worked very quickly to extinguish the fire and smoke could be seen from miles away at the time of the fire.

According to a witness on the scene, the driver was not injured in the fire. The semi and part of its trailer was completely destroyed.

The cause of the blaze is unknown at this time and crews are investigating.
