PUEBLO – Police in Pueblo are investigating the death of a man found on a construction site Thursday morning.
The man was discovered around 9:30 a.m. inside a port-a-potty at the site on the corner of Highway 50 West and Club Manor Drive.
Officers believe the man is homeless based on appearance only. He was not carrying any forms of identification.
A cause of death is yet to be determined by the coroner. Officers believe the man was seeking shelter from the cold.
It was just this week that Pueblo City Council approved spending $250,000 to fund a warming shelter to be run by the Pueblo Rescue Mission. The city is without a permanent shelter for the homeless at this time. It will be up to 10 days before two large tents can be put in place at the old Wayside Cross Rescue Mission on 4th.
