PUEBLO COUNTY – The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a body of a man was found Saturday in the Bessemer Ditch in eastern Pueblo County.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, just after 10 a.m. Saturday morning, deputies responded to the ditch near 33rd Ln. after receiving a report from a witness who said he saw what he believed to be a body in the ditch.
The Sheriff’s Office dive team and Pueblo Rural Fire responded to the scene and recovered the body.
The Sheriff’s Office said they are working with the Pueblo County Coroner to determine the identity of the man.
It’s unknown at this time how long the body had been in the water. According to the Sheriff’s Office, there were no obvious signs of trauma, but detectives are considering the death suspicious.
